In a month-to-month breakdown, the report showed a slight increase from ₦2,175.29 in May 2025, signaling a continued upward movement.

Kaduna residents bore the heaviest burden at ₦2,681.58 per litre, closely followed by Delta and Edo, both averaging over ₦2,580.

“Kerosene remains a vital household fuel in Nigeria,” the NBS stressed, pointing out that many low-income families depend on it for cooking and lighting.

The bureau noted its findings were based on data collected from over 10,000 respondents and outlets across all 774 local government areas, with strict verification checks.

Families already dealing with rising food and transportation bills now face extra pressure from the sharp increase in kerosene.
